Plans & limits
Every feature is available on every plan. Plans differ in how much can be open at once.
Comparison
| Limit | Free | Personal | Pro | Team |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open files | 2 | 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Active connections | 1 | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Tracks | 4 | 12 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Computed signals | 2 | 5 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Save custom presets | — | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Commercial use | — | — | — | Yes |
Every file format, transport, decoder, the formula language, the raw byte console and stream persistence work on all plans.
Reaching a limit
The action stops and a sheet names the lowest plan that would allow it. Nothing already open is affected. Limits are counted live, so closing a file, disconnecting a stream, or deleting a track or computed signal frees a slot immediately.
When opening a batch of files would cross the limit, the files already opened remain.
Purchasing
Open Refract → Manage Subscription… to compare plans and purchase.
Personal and Pro are available as a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription. Team is monthly and adds commercial-use rights. If you own Personal as a one-time purchase, an upgrade to Pro is offered.
Purchases go through the App Store. Manage subscriptions in System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Restoring purchases
On a new Mac, or after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in the same sheet.
Billing
Refunds, receipts and payment issues are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. For questions about what a plan includes, or a purchase not recognised after a restore, use the contact form.
